Paws Forward!

Once a month we feature a different course of agility obstacles where you and your dog can sample what you can learn, and the fun you can have, participating in agility.  Tips on focus and dog handling are included as each person/dog "Team" individually moves through the course with the dog on leash.

Introduction to the sport of Agility

1.5 hour - $25 per dog

"Paws On!"Workshop

8 classes - 1 hour per week

$150 per dog

The Foundation Agility class builds the knowledge and teamwork needed to successfully navigate an agility course with your dog.  Using only positive training methods, we allow your dog to learn at its own speed.  Safety is the top priority as you begin learning individual agility obstacles, then work on short sequences, which become progressively more challenging as the session continues.  Additional individualized focus is placed on handling tips.  Prior training class in Life Skills (or equivalent) is preferred.

Foundation Agility

8 classes - 1 hour per week

$150 per dog

The Advanced Beginner Agility class is designed for dogs that have graduated from the Foundation Agility class and are ready to take it to the next level.  The curriculum includes short sequences and contact obstacles.  In addition, the teams may begin by working with a short (tab) leash and progress to working off-leash, as well as introducing the team to using start-line stays.

Advanced Beginner Agility

8 classes - 1 hour per week

$150 per dog

The Intermediate Agility class is designed for dogs that have graduated from the Advanced Beginner Agility or have been evaluated and found suited for the class.  The dogs in this class should have reliable recall and good focus skills.  The curriculum includes longer course sequencing, send outs (distance work), contact obstacles and additional individualized handling tips.

Intermediate Agility

8 classes - 1 hour per week

$150 per dog

The Advanced Agility class is designed for dogs proficient on all agility obstacles and able to work on full course sequencing.  Emphasis is placed on handler position to attain best performance on the course.  Competition size and height obstacles are used with correct contacts by the dog on both the approach and exit.

Advanced Agility

A dog's first language is scent. Any dog breed/type or age, even those who may be shy or reactive benefit from the training exercises of Scentwork or nose work. There is no disability that impedes a dog when their nose is guiding them.

You will learn how to handle & ‘read’ your dog, perhaps gaining a new appreciation in how they think & work. Each class will have 4 dogs maximum to assure plenty of work time. Dogs will be crated when not working. When you arrive for class, please bring in your crate and setup then bring your dog in. You will also need lots of small, tasty, smelly treats, preferably non-crumbling type.
